Spanish La Liga BBVA 2013/2014 Fixtures List

The 2013-14 season fixtures of the Spanish Primiera Liga or La Liga was announced today with the first round of fixtures taking place on 17th and 18th of August.
Champions Barcelona begin their title defence at home against Levante with Neymar expected to make him first bow for the Catalan champions. Meanwhile rivals Real Madrid take on Real Betis in Carlo Ancelotti’s first competitive game in-charge of Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu. Elsewhere Copa del Rey winners Atletico Madrid will travel to Sevilla on the opening day, Diego Simeone will look to start off with a win having signed David Villa on the cheap from Barcelona. The other big match from the opening round of La Liga fixtures throws up Malaga visiting the Mestalla to face Valencia, Malaga recently lost their manager Manuel Pellegrini to Manchester City while attacking prodigy Isco also departed for Real Madrid in the summer.

The two biggest match of the season, the El-Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona will first take place on 27th October at Camp Nou with the return leg taking place on 23rd of March at the Santiago Bernabeu. With Jose Mourinho gone, there will likely be less animosity as compared to the days of the special one who made a return to Europa League winners - Chelsea.

The Supercopa de Espana’s first leg between La Liga winners Barcelona and Copa del Rey winner’s will take place on 21st of August at the Vicente Calderon with the return leg on 28th of August at the home of the Catalans.

The final round of fixtures will end on 18th of May with the biggest game of the gameweek between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
